The Inaugural Anglo Irish Bank Trophy 2006 took place on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September with a total of five races in perfect sailing conditions on the Solent.
15 companies took part and the competition was fierce throughout the fleet although one team (Malcolm Hollis) did set the standard of the regatta posting an amazing 5 first places. The battle for second (King Sturge), third (Anglo Irish Bank) and fourth (Watts & Partners) went down to the last race with only 3 points separating the teams. Congratulations to Malcolm Hollis for winning the first Anglo Irish Bank Trophy.
It was not all about the racing, Monday night was the Caribbean Party which was full of surprises. The event centre in Cowes Yacht Haven was transformed; guests were greeted by an array of entertainers from fire eaters to Limbo dancers. The Anglo Irish "Dark and Stormy" was the drink of the evening and got the party off to a flying start!

During the evening the competition continued with a Limbo contest followed by a surf challenge, with Colliers CRE stealing the show. Capping off the evening was the headline band ZU2.
The event wrapped up on Tuesday evening with an Oyster and Guinness reception and prize giving.
